Curtains | Customised for you

Made to measure curtains can start to become a daunting task when faced with the endless options of customization – we aim to clear up any confusion about made to measure curtains with our easy to follow guide.

Heading Types

The main question you will be asked when purchasing made to measure curtains is which heading type you would like. The main header types are:

Pencil Pleat – A traditional standard heading used for curtains and valances which can be used with a curtain track or pole with rings.

Eyelet – A decorative heading type used with curtain poles which allow you to match the eyelet colour to your pole (e.g antique brass).

Pinch PleatFor a more luxurious, tailored appearance, pinch pleat heading is fuller than a pencil pleat heading.

Tab TopAnother decorative heading suitable for use with curtain poles.

Lining Types

Standard – The basic option you can choose for your custom-made curtains is standard lining. This will give you the privacy you desire without darkening the room – perfect for lighter spaces such as an office or dining room.

Blackout – For more privacy and perhaps a better night’s sleep, opting for blackout lining will ensure total darkness in your room – perfect for bedrooms or baby’s room.

Fire Retardant – If your property is let out or is a public house, you might want to highly consider fire retardant lining. Along with a fire retardant fabric, this gives you peace of mind for any guests who stay in your property.

Optional Extras

Cushions – Scatter cushions or cushions for comfort – available in a large range of sizes, cushions that match or compliment your curtains can really bring a room together.

Tiebacks – Fabric tiebacks to match or tieback arms – a practical solution to keep curtains out of the way when they’re not closed.

Pelmet or Valance – A pelmet is usually a box shape used as a decorative way to conceal curtain fixings such as plastic tracks. A valance is also decorative, usually pencil pleat, and covers the uppermost part of the window alone or paired with curtains or blinds.
